The Good Life

January 28th, 2012 by admin No comments »

I am a pretty simple person and it really does not take a whole lot to make me happy. Good family and a quiet evening in are my favorite things. I look forward to a nice hot cup of tea after a long day and that moment when I sit on the couch realizing that all of my work is done for the day. I really enjoy just relaxing in the evening and it is something I try to do regularly, especially on the weekends if I can. Sometimes in life we get so busy it is the peace and quiet we crave and have to take time for.

Happy New Year

January 24th, 2012 by admin No comments »

Last weekend was New Year’s Eve and it was spent quietly at home as all of our New Year’s are done. Being very family oriented, my husband and I do not feel the need to go out and party or things like that. We always buy some Sparkling Grape Juice and spend it with the ones we love. We also played board games and of course stayed up late and had a really great time. I know this might sound square to some people but it is really fulfilling when you have such a great family and there is no where else I would rather be.

If I could make one change in the world today it would have to be to make it more fair and just. There are so many times when things are decided in courts or wrongs are committed on innocent people and nothing gets done about it. If people could just understand that everyone deserves what others have and to be treated with dignity and respect, this world would begin a complete turnaround and be a far better place to raise our children in. As long as things remain the way they are, I fear it will only keep getting worse.

Fashion and interior?

January 18th, 2012 by admin No comments »

I guessed I was not that special after all. Sharon would let anyone pass if they are good looking enough for her. What truly matters is the second round testing our fashion sensibility. However, what gets me thinking is why fashion has anything to do with interior design phoenix. Should we be getting wallpapers or cushions instead? Shane seemed to not pay attention to the question. He was busy checking out the latest fashion trend on the computer. He was pretty happy about getting free designer’s clothes. However, he had a difficult time in choosing what he really wanted. He did not like the stuff on the net at all.

I love the 80’s

January 17th, 2012 by admin No comments »

Maybe it is because my teenage years were in the 80’s or maybe it is because the music was just so darn awesome; either way, the 80’s is by far my favorite music. I can listen to the songs anytime I want now thanks to the internet and it is amazing how one song can take you back to a place in time. I guess it is my favorite decade of music as it was a time I was completely care free living with my parents. The music I dislike the most has to be the music where they are screaming at you. I think it is called screamo or something. It is absolutely horrible. They are not singing and I do not know how it qualifies as worth listening too by anyone.

Certificate Paper Frames

January 14th, 2012 by admin No comments »

Well you’ve just graduated from college and gotten a degree such as a bachelor’s degree. You have been presented with a certificate paper, but where do you put it? The easiest and most attractive option is to put it in a frame and hang it in your living room for everyone to relish in your achievements. It will serve as a conversational piece and people will often hold you in the highest regards and respect you more. Having your certificate paper or your diploma as some people call it, in a frame above your fireplace is a healthy option in which you can have for years and your grandchildren will look at it curiously and wonder what it means and what significance it has.

California

When I was on my last month of fourth grade my family traveled to Pasadena, California. I got to miss out on the last month of class and did not have to make it up. We took about four days to drive there, stopping along the way to see the sites of the states as we went. We saw the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and many other great places. We stayed at a relatives home once we got there and they actually had lemon trees and orange trees in their yards! I was really amazed at this as a child and it was a great trip.

The Joy of Money

January 10th, 2012 by admin No comments »

If I had an extra one thousand dollars laying around I would most definitely spend it at Wal-Mart. This may not be a dream place to spend that kind of money but they happen to have a Vizio High Definition television that I am looking at and would love to have. I also would like a new surround sound entertainment system which they also have. I have a fairly old and outdated television and I am in diar need of a new one. My entertainment system doesn’t work well anymore if at all and leaves me using just the television for sound which is not the same as surround sound. Someday soon I hope to purchase these items.

Working for a Living

In my lifetime of 39 years I have held many jobs. Most of these have been public service jobs, always dealing with people in one manner or the other. I started when I was 16 working in a restaurant and then moved on to working in department stores in sales and as cashiers. My favorite job I ever had was when I worked for a school district as a Para Educator. This is a position where you work one on one with a student that usually has a special need or disability. It was by far the most rewarding of all my jobs.

Stonehenge

January 2nd, 2012 by admin No comments »

If I could travel anywhere in the world I most definitely would go to Salisbury, England in order to tour Stonehenge. Ever since I was a child I have been intrigued by the size of the rocks and the beauty of the land that surrounds them. Seeing this magnificent structure up close would be a dream come true for me. The mystery of how they were placed or exactly why they are there also adds an air of mystery that I find quite fascinating. I have never been anywhere out of the United States so it would be a double treat.
